Cost of living protests
and clashes in Bologna.
A demonstration against rising living costs moves through Bologna. Police initially allow the march to reach Piazza dei Martiri, then block the route to prevent demonstrators from reaching the railway station. Bottles and firecrackers are thrown at officers. Police charges, water cannon and tear gas follow. Bins are set on fire, and tensions continue late into the evening.
